Zip Tips

  • Peek Around Corners: Before drawing a line from one number to the next, quickly look where that line would go. If it immediately traps itself in a corner or blocks off a whole section of the grid, it’s probably not the right way.
  • Dead Ends Tell You Something: If you draw a line and realize, “Oops, now I can’t get to the next number without crossing lines or leaving squares empty,” don’t sweat it! That dead end just told you the move you just made was wrong. Backtrack one step and try a different direction.
  • Look for the “Only Choice” Moves: Often, a number (or the end of your current path) will only have one empty square next to it that makes sense for continuing towards the next number. Grab those easy, forced moves first – they lock things in place.
  • Gotta Fill Every Square!: This is key! Always keep in mind that the final path has to cover every single spot on the grid. If drawing a line seems like it will make it impossible to visit a specific empty square later on, that line is likely wrong.
